The only "ally" was a unique goblin that he encountered along the way that wore heavy armor all the time to pass as a human later on. This girl wasn't introduced until later from what I remember. I wonder why they changed it.

Okay, so either Hijiri somehow forged her S class adventurer status, or there's been some character editing. There is no possible way somebody that dumb and inexperienced could have made it this far. She doesn't recognize traps, enemy strategies, or even know enough to not run off.
