Eiga being bad at cooking makes sense he is a rich boy with his personal maid, why does he need to cook for? Well in this case, its to get a girl who is his maid to like him, not that he knows that.
obviously not gonna b a deep manga or anything but i think the dynamic where he tries to impress his love interest whilst simultaneously unknowingly showing all his vulnerable sides and shortcomings to the exact same character has some potential

because it's the ultimate fantasy of a woman selflessly devoted to MC. A popular reverse of this trope would be a knight and a princess. Unshakeable loyalty is the key factor.
It's less that for me and more the fun interactions they tend to have, the taboo aspect and overcoming class differences thing (and the whole worthy/not worthy)
Princess x Knight tends to be peak as well, mainly if they suffer and go through fights together (although prefer Knight x Witch myself)

Cartoonish bad at cooking is such an infuriating trait for me. Most people seems to just find it comedic, but it's a pet peeve for me.

Real people that are bad at cooking are because they don't have much experience. They don't know how a taste will be affected by how much heat you cook things, or how to do certain steps properly. Stuff that can be fixed with practice and experience.

Anime bad at cooking is just straight up "I wanna strangle you" stupidity. Like, there's no way you're not doing that on purpose. It's not stuff that can be fixed with "practice" until you have bandages in your hand. It's like telling someone instructions to press the red button, and they poke their own eye out. Like come on dude. The problem isn't cooking at that point.
We're reading a story about a rich kid who doesn't notice his live-in maid (!), who for some reason is his own age(!!), is the girl he's crushing on, even though he's seen her from up close repeatedly. From there on I only expect more and more laughable shit :kek:

Ps: Eiga is best girl

Okay not cutting veggies right and all, that makes sense.

But who tf in their right mind goes "you know what will make this curry better? The stinkiest food in the world! That's a great idea!"
Tbf, it's not out of left field considering Shokugeki no Soma actually had a Kusaya Curry that smells horrible but tastes great. Unorthodox but it worked somehow.
I'm genuinely curious if there really is anyone in real life who falls into this 'cartoonishly bad at cooking' category? Myself haven't encountered any, but what about anyone else here?

You'd be surprised at how some people manage to mess up cooking. Some examples I have personally seen, and I have no idea how they managed to do it includes but not limited to: Bright white omelets that look like they glow in the dark, black omelets that aren't burned but are just..... black for some reason, burned rice while watching over it twice, very soggy french fries because they had the genius idea of frying with butter instead of oil, and extremely bitter soup because bitter gourds were a secret ingredient.

How come he can't tell it's her all she did was put on a wig...
In the first chapter, when he faints from the scary movie, she is saying his name and trying to wake him up. The voice she is using is her real voice because she is showing genuine concern for him. That is why he starts to wake up thinking it’s the classmate, because that is her real voice. The voice that she uses as Maria is changed in a way that he doesn’t notice the difference. The cover art also shows that she also has different colored eyes when she “changes” so she could be wearing colored contacts.

The thing I love is the fact that he has bandages all over the hand he's holding the knife with. Like... how do you manage to cut the hand that's holding the knife handle.
Just goes to show how absolutely terrible he is at cooking lmao

I feel like she's gonna somehow have a misunderstanding that he actually likes a different girl because he keeps talking about her other self whenever she talks to him. She's going to end up losing to herself somehow

Oh, FFS!!!!!! First he faints at a film and now the nonse is wearing hair clips?!?!?! This manga does nothing but boil my piss. If I never see it again, I will be a happy man. His father sounds like a complete douche too, who gets a court to mandate that a maid makes sure he doesn't get romantically involved with anyone unbecoming? Does that mean she has authority to let him date someone she sees fit? Why haven't his parents arranged a bride then? I like the idea of the story, but it looks like author-san put next to no thought into making it even slightly believable. This stinks of "because...reasons..."

I'm putting this dumpster fire trash in the dropped pile.
