i THINK the story would have been better if he first met the mage girl and had to convince the world that he could be a hero through his deeds. TBH, his team of the knight lady and horse guy were alot less interesting than the 4 party members

God, why? Why are these worthless HACKS allowed to work as editors? There's no way this manga deserved the axe. A series is not finished until it's actually finished. Yet another good manga down the "unsatisfying ending" drain for absolutely no reason.
In this case it seems to be canceled rather than axed, meaning there was probably some issues with the author.

Also you need to understand that most of the series that are axed are usually just not properly popular with the people buying the magazine.

On the other hand the reason a lot of junk can get through is because right now a lot of it is being mass produced for apps and because of that those apps don't care about quality... They just want to push out slop....

Only magazines for quality actually ax series....

axe-kun is so cruel, i think if you give the author like 10 more chapter we can get a better ending

I have no idea if this is the case or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was cancelled because of disagreements between the original author and the mangaka. I read through the entire WN with google translate (it works well enough) because I was interested after reading the first chapter of the manga, and I think this is unironically the worst and most unfaithful manga adaptation of a WN/LN I've ever seen.

Outside of the initial premise and the character names, the manga has pretty much nothing to do with the original WN. Almost every plot point is entirely original to the manga, the pace and tone of the story is completely different and almost opposite to the original WN, and the characters might as well be entirely different characters wearing the originals as skinsuits to a point where it's almost insulting.

I honestly recommend trying to read the WN if anyone found the premise of the manga interesting, it's one of the more unique ones I've read and it is far, far better than this manga adaptation (although the WN is much slower).

So, I'm someone who dropped this back in chapter 3. The premise was fine, but the execution of "reincarnated hero as the enemies' sage" was bad. I couldn't understand why the demon world took cross as a messianic figure.

Trudging past it, I thought the rest of the manga was fine. Art is good, and the scene-by-scene interaction was nice.

I get why it was axed, but it's a shame the main arc couldn't be finished in the manga.
