These stories are written by Japanese authors, for Japanese readers. They do not care in the slightest about your woke ideals, or gender equality. Japan itself is an extremely misogynistic, and racist nation. They don't hide that fact from anyone. You cannot apply Western ideals to Eastern philosophy, or traditions. Manga authors are not writing stories to appease english speaking readers. They are writing to their culture, and their preferences. But, by all means keep arguing about what it all means. It is vastly entertaining to watch.
