That assthat used a spear to destroy a fort wall? an unmagical SPEAR? not a metal ball or a rock?
I mean a spear is rather weak compared with a cannon ball or a rock. it would be destroyed when hitting the wall. and IF you should have tossed it So hard that it went near light speed.. it would burn up.
damn my rational mind.

Oh, I think I read the web novel of this. I just remembered because it happened very differently. The second arc, after Hikaru saved Lavia, the knight who lost to him was about to be punished with the death sentence for losing to a mere "thief". The knight wasn't Lawrence, rather a knight within his order, Lawrence is the captain and the one who decided the punishment.

Feeling bad for the guy, Hikaru traveled to the capital under the guise of doing transport(?) quest. There, he attacked few other knights inside the royal castle for a few days. Lawrence was his last target, after everything, the punishment was lifted.

I didn't read further since it was very different. I think there are a few other informations, like how the king is imbecile(he only works from 10 to 2, aka 4 hours a day, and can't be disturbed outside this time for any reason, yet wanted to start a war, wanted to have Lavia power), the princess is very proactive(because of the said king).

That's a dreadful road. No sleeping in the wagon. It's a small wonder the wagon is still in one piece.
The road IS terrible and travelling along it would be bad. But considering wagons and carts tend to travel around walking speed, it's not going to smash the heck out of the wheels as much as you'd think. It also looks like it might have some kind of spring suspension (top panel on page 3), which would make it both more comfortable to ride in, and less stress on the axles and wheels.

It's still a dreadful road though. IMO they'd be better off with just a pack horse or two and walking. Especially since they don't look to have much equipment with them (because they never do in these things).

That's indeed true. The slow speed helps a lot. It's pretty funny the road was still built on purpose, it's not merely a path that formed on its own below the feet of travellers, maybe only having got the bigger obstacles removed. No, folks purposefully paved it with those large pieces of rock, creating the super uneven surface. Anyone making the trip on foot would be wiser walking next to the road. Much smoother and much less chances of your foot suddenly getting stuck between rocks, twisting your ankle.

Yeah the webnovel follows a completely different path after the fire dragon incident where he called for the King to step down. The manga adaptation is very similar to the light novel, so if you wanted to read ahead, there are a number of volumes translated.

@nobody2002 @ZeroNihilum

What I find funny is that Lawrence is destroying the walls to their own fortress. True the enemy has captured it, but rather then negotiate the release of Jillarte, they would rather go full wrecking ball then anything remotely peaceful.
