Ok, time for a little TL lesson. Cocotte is usually a noun/name you'll hear when French people talk about their hens. The rooster is called a "Coq" (Yes, it's pronounced exactly the same way you'd pronounce cock), so obviously, a hen can be called "Cocotte" (this is also a reference to their clucking noise). Note that this can sometimes be used as an endearing term towards girls. The other uses for Cocotte in French are when talking about a "Cocotte minute", which is basically a pressure cooker, or in Canada (and the Vosges region of France), a conifer cone.
