I have mixed feeling about how he is showing his money stash and let them go post a coffee..
Although can put a BS move like he still has more money in bank or in dimension pocket or stuff, or he was a secret big shots even the royalty will think twice before clashing with him or in secret is sponsoring him as a sleeper agent.

Hopefully this will not be a borefest story about not working but money and girls come knocking in anyway.

This plot makes absolutely zero sense... why open any kind of shop if you don't want to deal with costumers? No need to pretense needed, buy a place, relax, maybe take up gardening, and invite friends over if you get lonely...

Hells, if you really get ambitious, you could cook up a couple picnic baskets, head down to the local orphanage, feed the kids a good meal, and do a bit of teaching afterwards...

But this whole negligent shop owner bit just feels like an utter trash cover story for a retired national hero.

itll probably get explained later, because the summary description says hes rich but than again this is just a guess but maybe he does want a shop but at the same time he doesnt wanna work like imagine winning the loterry but still working, you would most likely chill because you dont have a urgency to work as financially you are safe

If he didn't want to do the work personally, yet still wanted the shop, he just needs to higher another employee to do the work. The same could be done for the management leaving him nothing to do but sit around all day.

Instead he is sitting in the entrance, actively scaring away costumers and talking about closing up shop and going on vacation for a week. It's as if his only goal is the trappings of a business owner or an excuse to hire the female server.

Hmm, if he wanted to disappear and not have anyone bother him, then a totally lame joint ran by a lame owner could be the last place anyone would look for him.

While i can agree he isnt exactly advertising, he also isn't hiding. Otherwise the thieves never would have been allowed into the basement, let alone out alive.

The thieves make no sense. What valuables were they expecting in a place they described as a 'broke run-down shop'? They make it sound like they planned this, but feels more like they hit the place at random.

O . o?
They are random thieves, just like the waitress they don't recognize him as the strongest adventurer that defeated the demon king/lord/god/ect,ect. The thieves are small time crooks just looking for drinking money.

So my point was that if the above reincarnated hero was trying to hide or even just keep a low profile, he wouldn't be leading thieves into his basement that holds his small pile of gold and the Holy Sword hanging on the wall for all that enters the room to see...

Even assuming they didn't peg him as the aforementioned hero, it still opens him up to scrutiny from the interrogators who will inevitably question these fools.

I'd say the "the shop will go under" gag will get old fast, but it already has. He better let his employee know about his true worth sooner rather than later.

If I got enough money to retire early and still have enough left to run a business with zero profit, yea I'd do that too.

In this economy though... :haa:
