How are there even that many pirates around, where do they get all their ships and how do they fund themselves. Seems a bit, excessive?
the berkely house funds most of the pirates, they are basically pirate nobles. and they funded themselves by producing elixirs for the empire, which is the only reason their behaviour got tolerated. Liam got hold of the elixir machine at one point, but thats not public knowledge and the berkeleys coast by their reserves.

I'm more weirded out by Liam's seemingly infinite stores of wealth.
I get that he has several sources for constant cash flow, but surely not enough to constantly pump out armadas upon armadas of ships and the personal to man them (which passively drain his funds the more shit he buys...)

They really need to start checking this chart more often.

He got the alchemy box early on, remember? He can turn any piece of junk into a mountain of rare materials.

He said he has the same smell as his master so I bet he’s going to continuously be someone who BS his way to success following Liam >_>
I'm expecting to, just like how previously he started getting supernaturally good at swordsmanship, he'll actually figure out the flow of things from the BS this dude is spouting.
But yeah, just like his previous master, I expect that at some point he'll just be too terrified of what Liam has become and will decide that he definitely won't survive betraying him nor staying near him and eventually having his BS discovered.

I think it's more that the time scale is poorly represented by the chapter; I think there are several time skips in it, since it takes time to build infrastructure, to build the weapons and deliver them.

We know that he's developed his domain and is able to extract a fair amount in taxes, has developed good relations with merchants and he's constantly wiping out pirates (and taking over their resources, like the tool he can use to generate wealth endlessly).

So over a longer time frame, he's quite capable of making those expenses. (And consider that the Berkly house is overhauling their entire fleet of 30000 while spending even more elsewhere... These nobles just manage a lot of wealth.)

I'm a bit weirded by the numbers, I know there are many planets and all but a pirate fleet of 30000 ships seems ginormous, like epic war numbers.

If Liam was actually an evil lord he would have said "castrate and enslave them" not "kill them" when talking about the pirates. Bro just doesn't know how to be a villain.

From the family he did his internship with it sounded like many families use space pirates as personal militaries against other houses so think of them more like PMCs than Blackbeard or Somalis.

Wonder if the commander will still betray Liam, or if he's decided he's better off staying in his good books?
The commander is brilliant and a coward, he wouldn't risk his own neck unless he had to. Like a certain square jawed commissar. Incidentally, in the original web novel, the commander and Cedric were the same character I think, but they got split to avoid copyright issues probably. Like how the manhwa for I Became the Villain the Hero Is Obsessed With had to change things to avoid copyright infringement of The Dark Knight.

A major inspiration for the series is Warhammer: 40,000, that's why the scale is huge.

Thanks for the scanlation.

Great, not one, but two con artists who the MC misunderstands and discover some unbeatable skill from.

Also I can't keep track of his entourage anymore, especially the ones with colorless hair.

We have his wife, the secretary, and the knight they all look the same.
