Did we find out her situation and why she wanted to kill herself? Like I am happy she is smugly making moves now and so insistent on sticking to mc but right it just feels like this elephant in the room, or is that just me.

She's suffering from survivors guilt. Her mother died protecting her from a tunnel collapse which was caused by Kondo's father's company's improperly maintaining the tunnel. Because of this her father who used to dote on her has decided to push her away to protect her as he seeks vengeance against Kondo's father as well as those who were also involved in the embezzlement of the money that was supposed to go towards maintaining the tunnel. Her former classmates who were jealous of her took the opportunity to make fun of her as well as bully her for surviving while allowing her mother to die. They spread rumors behind her back and prank called her about the incident mocking her with lines like "why did you let me die" stating she's the one responsible for her mother's death. Because of this experience Ai knows full well how bullshit rumors are and it's the reason why she never believed any of the rumors regarding Eiji.
While he did transfer her hoping to give her some space from it all and also punishing those who were messing with his daughter, Ai's father failed to comprehend how fragile Ai's mental state was. The loss of her mother, her father pushing her away, as well as the shallowness of the people around her who were only after her due to her appearance broke her causing her to go to the rooftop that day to end it all.
Ai's parents and Eiji's parents are actually very close friends despite the two never having met before their meeting on the rooftop. Her father used to visit Aono Kitchen all the time, to the point Eiji comfortable calls him Uncle. Ai knows this and when they had first met on the rooftop when she said "why are you here now of all times" it was because she thought her father had sent Eiji to stop her not because she was surprised someone else was there. However it turned out that wasnt the case and Eiji was there for a different reason. While Ai's remarks about not believing in the rumors had saved Eiji, Eiji's genuine kindness towards her despite not knowing who she was nor caring about appearances had also saved Ai that day.
Ai later feels guilty about not telling the Aono family any of her circumstances despite how kind they are to her. When she had transfered she changed her family name from her father's to her mother's. Aono's mom treats Ai as a daughter not only because of how she's helped Eiji, but also because she notices how much Ai resembles her mother whom Aono's mom was close with. However she doesnt press Ai to reveal her circumstances and respectfully waits for Ai to tell them everything herself.
Ai does eventually reveal her past to them and reconciles with her father thanks to Eiji's efforts. When Ai sought a confession from Eiji to affirm her feelings, Eiji messes it up and instead ends up basically proposing to her instead making Ai very happy in the process. Ai's father is very supportive of their relationship since he already knows what kind of person Eiji is.

It's the BULLYING that Eiji kept secret from her along with only finding out LATER about everything from the teacher as they gather the evidence! Kondo and Miyuki are IDIOTS for being SO FUCKING PUBLIC since guess what
A Foodie Streamer was nearby that night in chapter 1, heard Kondo's loud fucking mouth among the other commotion and had his camera on the trio! No words were heard, however the video CLEARLY shows next to Kondo "HITTING" Eiji unwarranted, proving he LIED about laying a hand on him along with Miyuki also exposed as lying cause GUESS WHAT! Eiji never grabbed her on her wrist....KONDO DID as the video showed, meaning his "I didn't see or no nothing" is also proven a lie!
Seeing her son's "humilation" and be HARMED, and ALL because Miyuki had to be a Slut! Ms. Aono.....REGRETS letting Miyuki off with a "Stay away from my family" earlier and wished she had STRANGLED her instead back then! Next to the Fact the Teacher gets a copy of the Stream, which goes on among MANY OTHER THINGS leading to the EXPLUSIONS of Miyuki and Kondo! As me and others said previously! Miyuki SQUANDERED her last chance to tell the truth, and what was funny in the end was, she didn't even do ANY of this for KONDO like she kept LYING she was doing it for out of guilt for getting involved, even THAT was a lie! SHE was just scared of losing her reputation if it came out she cheated on Eiji, and acknowledging later that losing Eiji meant that REPUTATION was pointless so she wrecked his life to save ONLY HERSELF! Just another level of her SELFISHNESS. I do like that it wasn't MALICIOUS Selfishness at least. Just idiotic at worst and refusing to accept responsibility. "Crime doesn't pay indeed' LOL
But Ms. Aono, on Eiji's behalf as his mother and Guardian, she files a police report and plans on SUEING BOTH KONDO AND MIYUKI! Over the assault back in chapter 1 in Kondo's case, and the Slander and Conspiracy in Miyuki Case & ESPECIALLY Kondo's as well! THIS leads to the police following up, and Kondo like the LOSER COWARDLY SMUG SNAKE THAT HE IS "Running away" when they show up at the school for him and getting his ass arrested cause THEY ONLY CAME TO QUESTION HIM! If he had kept his cool, they'd have left after questioning him and that would be it, but well a DATE later with Miyuki that I think is UPCOMING here in the Manga will SHOW "Just how BRAVE Kondo is when things aren't working in his favor! He's smug because of a sense of invincibility, but show A CHINK and he will panic and show how much of a LOSER he really is) This just starts the FUSE on disproving the lie that Kondo was "a big hero who protected Miyuki from her creepy EX BF Eiji" since seeing him being carted off and later Miyuki and the Soccer Club being called in again after that affair with Kondo's arrest (and Eiji's award that happened RIGHT as that arrest happened mind you, since Kondo ran and got arrested near the award, ALOT of students witness it) starts destroying the narrative! And if Kondo wasn't a "good guy hero" then "What did happen!"
The Second INTERVIEW and as said Miyuki panicking when questioned by the other students WHY she's being called back in and her cracking and begging forgiveness is the DEATH KNELL as now EVERYONE IN HER CLASS and the SCHOOL EVENTUALLY discover she and Kondo CONSPIRED against Eiji and LIED! Eiji WASN'T the "creepy Ex BF Stalker" he was painted as, and he starts being seen instead as "The poor loyal BF who was betrayed by his GF who cheated on him, who after getting caught, in fear of being exposed, CONSPIRED with Kondo her affair partner to frame EIJI as the bad guy of the whole ordeal" While that's not 100% the truth as Miyuki was POINTLESSLY irrelevent once she choose to remain SILENT when the mess started (giving WEIGHT to the lie). This only WORSENS her REPUTATION LOSS she feared as again, "keeping quiet" destroyed ANY CHANCE once the truth came out for her to save herself once it DID come out!
Kondo is lucky that both being held (that arrest I mentioned), Expulsion (don't come BACK, especially after what his father pulls later trying to bribe the Principal which doesn't work and unlucky him a reporter had witness his outburst and actions so that starts HIS RUINATION, which will effect HIM later on) and Juvie mean he doesn't have to SUFFER the Consequences of being exposed as a Piece of Shit (What Eiji had to go through because of him, yeah he'll still be talked about BADLY and anyone who cares to remember him will only remember him as a scumbag who stole a good model student's girlfriend then conspired with her to lie on said student to frame HIM as the bad guy! So he will always be seen from that point on as a Scumbag), He'll ESPECIALLY need to avoid his old minions in the Soccer Club who get EXPELLED AND THE CLUB SHUT DOWN for their part in helping him by target Eiji for bullying! Not a single one is INNOCENT (even if they claim like Miyuki's female friend who helped them, Ritsu who also is getting expelled for helping THEM that they didn't know Eiji was innocent, as the GOOD TEACHER will retort that as he said at the START once he noticed Eiji's desk and the bullying, "they had no RIGHT to take matters into their own hands!" and he is right on that, they did it for their OWN satisfaction and hopes of getting him to quit school on his own cause they thought THEY had the right to do so, not caring if he WAS innocent or not!). Even the TEAM CAPTAIN who as you saw in HIS interview before Miyuki previous chapter, "LIED" about not noticing anything going on, he WAS aware of Kondo's bad behavior INCLUDING how he co-opt the Club Members into his personal minions!
The Dude was SELFISHLY focusing on his own "University Propsects" that he COULDN'T MUSTER getting Kondo under control, or even LETTING the Coach know what was going on because he assumed it would just get in the way of his FOCUSING on his future and LET the scumbag do as he pleased! I discovered this manga yesterday and I love it, have binge read all of it and now I have to wait a whole month for next chapter ;_;
As bad as what happened to Aono is he came out with an even better girlfriend than he had previously so in a certain win he's the winner in all of this. Miyuki is more attractive than Ai but that's the only thing she has over her, Ai is more fun, cooler, and overall a way better person, and unlike Miyuki's looks she'll keep all of that when Aono and her grow up together (hopefully, don't want to get novel spoilers).

Correction the worse part is over for Eiji, but Ai is still suffering for the most part and continues to suffer for now, in the manga, even with the small light of hope Eiji has given her. Mainly regarding if she deserves this bit of happiness or not
