So I guess that outfit all but confirms that every saint back to the First, was an isekai'd individual? I wonder if she was summoned by the human kingdom currently ruled by Luliam's mother, or if she wound up there some other way, perhaps even by accident? Which would be interesting, as it would mean that inter-world summoning magic was then devised specifically to try and find more saints, all for the purpose of quelling the miasma (even not knowing the truth behind it). How that turned into Nana & Daichi's case of marrying into the human kingdom's royalty, is my follow-up question; I would have to go back and read earlier chapters, to see if Luliam & Eldora's mother also had a Saint Wife or not (I don't believe she did, or at least not presently, anyway).
The fact that every saint who showed up in that world went off and disappeared, is ominous, though, and it's heartbreaking how much it clearly *weighs on Astora, and that she carries blame within herself for sending so many to their death. I'm sure she knows she could never stop Luliam, and so making it clear to Nana that it's their decision, and not Astora's wish, makes sense. Not like it would stop them of course: Nana will do what Luliam wants, and Luliam wants her master's final bits of time left to be happy. And there's clearly a lot of pragmatic upside to liberating the most historically powerful magical nation from the clutches of such foul energies.
Which...makes me wonder if we'll see a team-up effort between both pairs of Princesses & Saints. Maybe it's a case of Saints failing before because it was just one at a time? Not enough info to guess at, and clearly they weren't going with royal partners since the kingdom we care about is still functioning with its monarchy intact. But if this becomes at all a political power play, Eldora wouldn't sit around and let her sister take the lead. And the potential power in Sol Oculus, to say nothing of the optics of being its savior, are kind of mind-boggling in scope.
Big movement forward in the larger plot, though. Still need to see how the demonic figure factors in (Astora mentioned people of "ill repute" taking advantage of things if they learned the truth of the miasma; so I'm sure she'll show up again sooner than later)--and we have the ongoing mystery of the corrupted staff that caused a bunch of the most recent kerfuffle, and the conspiracy behind that.
So a fair bit of the plot still needs to be resolved, which means I hope this is going for a while, yet.
Exciting stuff, though. Thanks for the TL as always.
