I can't stand it. Author got too fond of her and just waived off anything that can be perceived as a negative from her character. Even that spinoff was doing some crazy work to make the original encounter more favorable to Takae.Man there's some serious revisionist history going on here. I don't think it was Takae showing the panties that was the problem so much as the blackmail afterwards... but nah, let's focus on the panties.
My thoughts exactly. Would of been great if he called her on that.Man there's some serious revisionist history going on here. I don't think it was Takae showing the panties that was the problem so much as the blackmail afterwards... but nah, let's focus on the panties.
MA'AM. You dont double down on showing off the blackmail panties.
Get yourself under control. Check thy self lest thou wreck thyself.

Takae is my second favorite character next to Itachi, but even I can't let it slide that she's leaving out the part where she blackmailed Saotome.

I like Takae, but don't pretend she only flashed her panties that time, Author-san.
Also, when will Saotome stop being so... herbivore? It's impossible to root for him.
I went and reread the first chapter (and the second which gave us Ushigome nipples), and shit was wild
It wasn't just a "oops you saw my panties and must pay hehe" deal
It was Takae and her friends (who never show up again), ambushing Saotome in the roof taking pictures of him looking at panties and threatening to ruin his social image to the point that no matter where he goes the stigma would follow him
And he would have to pay all of them a fee for panty looking, and then another fee for them to not spread the photos, it was straight out extortion
To now pass it as teasing is delusional from the author

Rereadl page 18. What does he actuallly tell her? It would of been much better for both of them if he said "no, you tried to blackmail me and still haven't apologized."I mean, Hodaka does straight up call it blackmail in this very chapter, so it's not like the author isn't willing to call it that way. I interpret it more as a case of Takae being unable to admit that the key issue wasn't the panty flashing but the blackmail part of the situation.

The revision was already accomplished in the companion title when we got her POV on alla dat. TLDR of it all, she was just really clumsy about how she presented herself (in her head, anyway). Doesn't make it any better when Saotome only has her words and actions to go on, but it's not really that different from how, say, Nagatoro Hayase presented herself early on in that book.Man there's some serious revisionist history going on here.
