Ending honestly felt a little rushed and confusing to me honestly for both the story and especially the art. But that's fine to me, nothing they've has been shown is seems story breaking to me as a new season generally means a reset. The author clearly needs the break and I hope they rest well, they've got a big enough fanbase waiting for them.

What I'm more excited for in season 2 is the art, I've been looking at the earlier chapters (Heck, even any chapters below Ch. 58) and I'm kinda blown away by consistently gorgeous they look and I hope they can maintain that same level quality for most of season 2 and onwards

I didn't expect to have new trainees either, from both a corporate (shouldn't they start streamlining the candidate pool to get the final debut team soon?) and a narrative (I thought the author was cutting off the branches of the cast) perspective.

From the corporate perspective, the company is probably looking ahead long-term to the next girl group they're gonna release, so any trainees that don't make it into the debut team this time (and are still below the age cut-off) can still stick around, especially since they've already invested time and effort into raising them. Also works from a narrative perspective, since you can see how their relationships with Yoil change after she becomes an active idol. From what Mooyoung said this chapter and just the general vibes I've gotten so far, it feels like this story is gonna be running for quite a while.

Lastly, we're shown Soae's devastated expression here by author-sama. I'm really curious why now… There are only a few possibilities I could think of.

1. Soae thinks Sanghyun gave up on his dream due to the incident that happened before and couldn't come to terms with it.
2. Soae realizes that Yoil and Sanghyun are the same person and is hurt because Sanghyun keeps lying to her, and she thinks Sanghyun doesn't trust her.
3. That something Seoyoung said actually happened.

Even without considering all of the things that could have been happened off-screen, he just comes off kinda callous here. He says "what a coincidence" which means he didn't contact her before this and they just ran into each other outside the Parang building. Basically one of two ways Soae can see this:

1. He didn't know she was a trainee at Ploud until then, which means he was so uninterested in her he didn't bother asking Seoyoung about her.
2. He did know and this is just him halfheartedly hiding that he's been actively avoiding her for two years.

Even the way he ends the conversation here sounds like he's just brushing her off. For Soae, this is her reuniting with someone with whom she thought she had this deep connection, but his attitude is so casual, like he's barely thought about her at all in the two years they've been apart. Obviously, that's gonna hurt her.

That aside, it was a pleasure to read these chapters week to week. Genuinely a contender for the best genderswap story I've read, and that's saying something since I do love my genderslop. The author cooked with this series fr. They deserve a break after making peak, and hopefully they come back swinging.

Ironic that Yoil helped her find her motivation only for her motivation to be Sanghyun who is no longer on this path as Sanghyun.

At least she didn't say where she saw Yoil before, that would have made things so much worse.

I was expecting new trainees eventually especially with the thinning recently. Yoil joined after a bunch were eliminated. Minji said she has a soft heart so its nice to see her accepting she will lose friends on this path.

As soon as hiatus information is announced I'll go to the doctor and put myself in a drug induced coma till its back.

Thank you Kontoru and Archangel Owen, I hope you're the first people to translate the series when the hiatus ends. Especially because the official translation is jelly donuts bad.

I AM SOOO CONFUSED. This is such a confusing chapter that I don’t know what to think about. Was that a timeskip at the end? What was that about? It seems to be an odd teaser for what is going to happen next, but it felt way too sudden. I am worried the author tried to squeeze so much because the season ending here wasn’t their original plan. I do hope they get rest and feel much better, and can make things feel more conclusive again without changing their original vision.

Thanks for translating this Kontoru, I’ve been following your translation for a while now, I don’t know how long tbh but it has been a while. I remember back when there was that other translation group that started trying to pass you and charge money , but you got the raw provider so you were able to pass them lol. RIP Bato and mangapark, I used to be a bato main and had many other things I was reading there, but when it shut down I lost my place on many of them and even forgot some of them. I am glad I found you here again though. I hope things keep going well for you. I am curious though, what would you do if the official translation manages to catch up during the hiatus. Idk if webtoon ever does simultaneous translations or anything, or even on the same day, but if they end up releasing the translation not far behind the original would you keep on translating?

Idk how to send images here, but the part where yoil and motoring were talking was pretty confusing. The part where she asked if she got eliminated specifically. Idk what is wrong with it but it doesn’t make sense. If that could be fixed somehow that would be nice. Also this doesn’t seem to be an error on your part, but it is confusing who is talking in the phone call at the end, it’s kinda funny lol.
