Personally, I'd find it pretty funny if he rejected Tsuzuri then confessed to Nishino, just to get rejected, and turns out that she was never actually flirting with him, she was just being nice and friendly all along, and in fact she even has a boyfriend, so that both friendships end up awkward or worse. I'm sure no trauma will be stirred among readers... :meguusmug:

But I also feel bad for Tsuzuri since she has to get rejected by MC :qq:
Tsuzuri is too much of a absolute sweetheart to get what's coming for her.

Must be one of the least suspenseful cliffhangers I've ever seen in this medium. I can't even blame people for thinking up the stupidest plot twists imaginable; you have to reach for the stupid to come up with something that's not already obvious. Nakayama told us outright Nishino won from the outset (as if we needed telling).
She's won so hard I can't even suggest Mormonism as a solution.

As much as I kinda get the character that Tsuzuri is (a losing heroine), you hit the spot. The third wheel doesn't add anything if you will get rid of it quickly it's like the author did use a cheap drama for Nakayama so he finally moves on Nishino not only as a friend but as the girl he fells on. This chapter is a empty wholesomeness to cheer MC up a bit after what happened at the festival I liked the donuts conversation tho
As much as Tsuzuri is a best girl who didn't deserve the Aztec-style heart ripping she is about receive, I do appreciate what the Mangaka is doing with a compare-and-contrast with Tsuzri and Nishino. Nishino is challenging Nakayama to grow. Tsuzuri and Him would have been good together but he'd have never gotten pushed to leave his OCD comfort zone, she would have made space for him. So I do appreciate the theming but just....

Man, why Tsuzuri ;_;. Not even the courtesy to give her a soft landing like some of the losing best girls get.

I keep seeing this manga brought up as a good one, but I'm always hesitant on it because of the cross-dressing element. I'm really not keen on that at all, but is the manga itself really worth pushing through even with that?
Yeah, that manga is a banger. The Cross-Dressing part is presented in a very delightful and insightful way, it‘s really enjoyable watching the MC‘s progress. Check it out!

Why does Japan always do this??? They always bottle it and introduce soul-destroying roadblocks. Why can't Japan just be happy?

People saying this is ending, didn't the manga say everything before he realized he likes Nishino was just the prologue?

Ofcourse, just keep in mind that the crossdressing part is not the main focus of the story

I hate this, I hate people losing when they fell inlove with a smile. That's like the purest form of love, and to have them lose, just really breaks my heart. I can't say that the MC sucks for this since he pretty much did the same for the FMC, but god, I hate these.

Don't know if the story's gonna end soon, but it looks like going forward it will develop pretty much as anyone expects it to, following all the sacred conventions of the rom-com genre.

See, the thing is that nobody really remembers the manga for the crossdressing. It's remembered almost entirely for its third wheel, a girl named Botan. In the manga romcom addict subculture, Botan is basically Goku. She's a legend. I'm afraid the true degenerates around here are going to continue referencing her every time a third wheel is introduced, and the only way to know why is to read her manga. It's not nearly long enough and not nearly badly written enough to justify the term "pushing through", if that's any help. (Very little tropey garbage that I remember.)

The crossdressing is whatever. The male lead in Ookami Shounen would just as soon not crossdress if it wasn't for the female lead's fear of men. (Not a spoiler, it's in the synopsis.) It's entirely tangential to the actual story. If an actual crossdressing enthusiast were to ask me to recommend something, I would go for Kasane to Subaru.

Author be introducing a good childhood friend then treat her as trash. This wasn't really necessary as MC already realizing his feelings for the main girl without her. Author should just end this shit already.

Been a while since reading this I'm surprised he's eating store bought food that isn't made in a sterile environment.

Anyway Nishino was his sexual awakening, Tsuzuri never stood a chance.

I was wondering what reason for FMC liking MC the author was gonna go with, but he actually went down the "MC you're so kind" route. I usually don't have a problem with that, even if it's cliche and a bit flimsy, but in this manga that requires too much suspension of disbelief. Other than maybe that one time he apologized to Nishino for being shitty to her, when has this MC not been a moody, selfish asshole? Where does that "you're so kind" come from?

I binged this series today and Nishino's personality really reminds me of Kazumi from Ninja Shinobu-san no Junjou. Art is way better here though!

I'm glad this is addressed quickly, although I still don't get why we got a childhood friend plotline at all by that point

Childhood friend arc does remediate MC a bit since he's otherwise shown to have not that great of a personality. When he's younger and more innocent, and viewed from childhood friend's perspective, he becomes a bit more sympathetic and I guess you are supposed to believe FMC can view his high-school self similarly, even if his behavior with her means she should be kicking him to the curb like trash.

The backstory of childhood friend being sort-of ostracized for being friends with a wierdo also made me think that MC could indulge his insecurities and try to distance himself from FMC so she didn't suffer the same fate. But FMC is S-Tier in every respect so hard for the reader to get all worried about that outcome.
