Oh this is nice. In 2026, being able to bake has been commodified to death. Someone making minimum wage (or less) can also bake, cheaper and faster, on machines they don't own. Same for making furniture, or painting, or anything made with your own hands. It's not enough to be good at a thing, you also need to network, and market yourself, and project symbolic value to stand out from the sweatshops.

Now he's in a place where a skill that makes him happy is also valued by others! Hoorah! Combined with the unstoppable positivity of the gyaru, things are looking up.

There are loads of Isekai where the person cooks or bakes and blows the mind of everyone in the other world, but they never bother to explain why the other worlds food kinda sucks. At least this one has some sort of explanation as to why a hobbyist amateur baker could be valuable

There is also a shocking lack of innovation in most isekai settings. People only do the bare minimum effort to push out a tried and true product, so most isekai food ends up edible, but bland. Or the quality of the end product relies on how magical the ingredients were.

So when someone from out world where innovation thrives, whatever the transmigrator creates becomes sensational.
