If the author didn't rely so much on unnecessary harem nonsense later on, this would be so much better. Rintaro not being the usual dense MC also does wonders for him and Rei, and honestly, I wish they would just get together before the ending instead of dragging it out. Unfortunately, it looks like we're going to have a lot of harem nonsense in the next arcs... hopefully the mangaka handles it better than the light novel author has so far.
