It's the hair... when it was long he acted like a slob and lazy. We'll, to the extent his wife allowed. xD with the new shorter hairstyle, he is acting more like a reasonable perent and father figure...

Page 5 makes far more sense here, he called his wife and son the dangerous ones here by indirectly referring to them while the other translation didn't get that.

I know it's a comedy, but it would be great to see what their relationship was like. We really don't get enough heartfelt parent/children interactions in manga. Mother and Son interactions are especially rare.

I don't know. That could be pretty entertaining. Nodaka is kidnapped by evil Shaolin monks and the whole family has to attck the temple to rescue her. Damn, I really want to see that now.

I don't think it's that kind of manga, and I also think mom is too powerful for it to end up as a suicide attack, but you're onto something regardless.
