Reading lips isn't magic. I'v known a few deaf people, they catch some parts of what people say through lip reading, not all of it. And that's if your lips are in full view and you're not moving. Many are only partially deaf and they need you to speak up because just lip reading isn't enough even when they are staring straight at you.

I hate moments like these because I know our MC will not even get mad at her for sending this video. Because manga MCs are doormats who can never be allowed to be angry at anyone unless it's an antagonist (and even then, it depends). Just even saying "I did not like you doing this" is usually not allowed or is only said as a joke.

I don't know how much this is the author being so socially inept that he/she believes this is something anyone would actually do, and how much it is for dramatic effect... In either case, I hate it.
Feels like it just breaks the flow and tendency of the manga in the second case, and if the first one he/she should have an editor tell that this is just fucking insane for a decent person to behave.
