Mmmm, it was an interesting read, but the ending was...not great. The story itself was straightforward, so having an ambiguous ending doesn't feel like anything but noncommittal.

Still, even if I think the ending sucked, the manga was overall fun.

My interpretation is that takahashi doesn't eat itou. And not so much because itou, doesn't want to be eaten, because she does want to be, but because takahashi has learnt from prior experience that if she eats the person she is interested in, she'll just end up feeling empty and missing something .

I managed to get my hands on the Yen Press printings/translation and I somewhat liked it. Although I found Cogito's translation to be better/more enjoyable. I guess what I want to say is thank you Cogito for translating the manga, I really liked your translation.

I don't like the open ambigous ending too if I have to be honest. A shame considering how the serie is otherwise exceptional. The parts regarding the different moralities the conflict regarding the substitution, where even if I'm not sure if Itou solution was right it certainly give me reasons to think, the swarm monster teacher having killed and replaced the author it was obsessing over were amazing.

Also congrats to the translators, this was a mastodontical work to translate and adapt and you did an amazing job.
