Repetitive chapters and romance going nowhere are Reiji's specialty. Rent-A-Girlfriend was 439 chapters of that. It's his bread and butter.

Why is the writing so much better in this series compared to Rent a Girlfriend?

This was a really interesting chapter for me. Last chapter left me really unsettled because I didn't think that the resolution of everything left a good taste in my mouth, but now I think there's just a lot to hint in this chapter that the whole issue was a giant setup.

Like did anyone catch that the Minami kissing her brother scandal got completely overshadowed by the mother issue? We never found out who was tailing them to begin with, but the timing of the mother stuff coming just as the Minami gets paparazzi'd is too coincidental. And how Shion-kun just points out that there's still a looming threat underneath. Nothing really got resolved and I think maybe the father tried to orchestrate it in this way.

But don't pay attention to all that cause Minami declares her love in front of the family, look here, look here, ignore all the strangeness going on.
