I don't completely disagree with the sentiment, but I think you're pretty severely overstating it.no offense .. absolutely no offense here.
but Ms Shiratori shifted into a completely depressed, close to non-functional human being because one student asked her for advice and didn't end up going to the Art Uni that Ms Shiratori went to?
that's enough to ruin someone's life and put them in the deepest depression they've ever been in?
i just cannot buy that.
i can buy all sorts of plots and stories, even the one where a princess keeps getting reincarnated to build her female harem and sesbian lex all of them at once.
i buy that.
but this?
i'm not buying.

Truth nuke. Couldn't say it betterI don't completely disagree with the sentiment, but I think you're pretty severely overstating it.
Ms. Shiratori didn't just give a student advice, she repeatedly encouraged that student to pursue a school that Shiratori herself initially assumed the student probably couldn't get into. That encouragement resulted in the student grinding for months for a goal she could not achieve, and having higher than realistic expectations that made the blow of not getting in hit much harder. The reason the student apologizing to Shiratori is what broke her is because it implies that the student was doing what they were doing in part for her, to meet her expectations.
Ms. Shiratori wanted to become a teacher because a teacher had a really positive impact on her, but when she tries to be that teacher for someone else, her position of power only ends up hurting the student. I think Shiratori's reaction is a bit extreme, but I can absolutely see how she would end up scared of getting to involved with students. The lesson Shiratori seems to have internalized is that teachers have a lot of power over students for both good and bad, and that she doesn't know how to control that power properly, so she'd rather withdraw from influencing students as much as she can so she doesn't risk hurting them.

Are you sure this was in this chapter? (Chapter 8)? I just read thru the entire chapter again and I can't find these 2 lines on any of the pages of chapter 8....page 8: your aiming -> you're aiming; there's no -> there are no
page 9: every even -> every day(?) even
Somehow I got the pages wrong or something, it's pages 4 and 5 now, but yes: "since your aiming to come", "art classroom every even"Are you sure this was in this chapter? (Chapter 8)? I just read thru the entire chapter again and I can't find these 2 lines on any of the pages of chapter 8....

The version on Dynasty has been fixed since my previous post, though.
Which manga was that?So another manga I am reading covered a much worse outcome for students failing their entrance exams for their first-choice schools, so I was bracing myself for the worst.
