As for the story, it's nice seeing opposite of usual girl is from organization and boy is normal. The scene of running away from park didn't make sense considering later pages but thankfully it addressed it real quick.

I get it, Japan's whole 'the nail that sticks up gets hammered down' thing. But holy fuck does that make for boring protagonists when a character's entire personality is "don't stand out".

Right, I'm hooked. This felt like Sousei no Onmyouji but without prophecy and child making. Also less stake I suppose? Because reading Sousei no Onmyouji sometimes stressed me due to how strong the youkai was written in comparison to the exorcists. Also unlike Jujutsu Kaisen, there wasn't a Gojo-esque character to fall back to, it also not shying away from killing named characters which give it a lot of tension.

Well if this one is more relaxing and focused more on their relationships, I think I'd like this
