The Demon King is the 13th Crown, that's why Bachiko taking Delkira's seat was a big deal since it meant that she had near impossible high standards to live up to.

Something Azz here neglected to do in detail, only outlining the scope in vague terms.

I think that's more of an artifact of "good writers don't repeat themselves"; I think we can assume that, just like how we only saw Azz and Lied's version of the conversation, any important details not explicitly shown to be mentioned happened but weren't worth spending a panel on since the audience already knows the stakes.

Sabnok dreams about becoming the next Demon King, so defying Border Patrol puts him at risk of being ineligible.

I suspect if you asked Sabnock about that specifically, he'd say something like "What kind of Demon King would let a little thing like Border Patrol stop them?". A true Demon King doesn't need anyone's permission but his own.

As expected, the Misfits are ride or die for Iruma, which shouldn't be a surprise since he basically changed their lives for the better. They're popular and have lots of more self confidence in themselves thanks to him, its only natural they'd risk it all to save their leader/friend

Yeah I don't think that's gonna happen with just a question. Tradition is one hell of a thing to overcome. Plus the way I see it, more seats more or less equals less personal power per seat. And I doubt high-ranking demons enjoy sharing. Now, if Iruma actually became demon king, that would be another question entirely - he could straight up replace seats with bleachers and no one would object.

To the demon's king will tradition doesn't matter
