Wait. I just thought of something. Are we even sure that MCs ex gf is the girl on the cover? I know the entire first chapter was MC going on and on about her and how one day she'd smile at him with love and all that, but this manga feels like it'll hit us with a twist that had a bunch of foreshadowing that seems obvious on a second read.

I’m going to guess that the MC just knows Chisa too well and has decided to take a risk and play the long game. He doesn’t need to meet the guy to know him or anyone else aren’t able to handle her. She has this extremely obsessive nature that will eventually wear them down.

I’m guessing his approach to his relationship with Chisa is also part of his gamble. He’s able to extract affection from her while also avoiding that trap. Though even she is a little unnerved by this approach.

At least it's kind of entertaining to witness their unhinged imagination. Also comforting when I think about my own weird and lame ideas.

Someone commented a really on point analysis on the first chapter.

Our MC is engaging in toxic codependency, making her rely on him as a stable force of emotional attention and food. MC doesn't shame her or scold her in any way that doesn't benefit himself (e.g telling her that she's not eating well enough to get her to eat his food). Allowing her to ruin her life with truancy, debt and (prediction) abusive relationships. MC doesn't seem to care about the social clout he gets by "dating" a terrible partner, but he isn't afraid to use that clout for his purposes (CH.5 where he sets up a bomb at femc's lover workplace).

Eventually when everything in her life goes to shit, MC will be there holding her life in his hands completely.

Psychopathy seems like a likely diagnosis for MC, he doesn't seems to care much about Femc's wellbeing aside from what he can get out of her. If Femc did not exist, he would do the same with other women in her life (foreshadowing from the CH.3 school meal scene?).

I'm excited to see where this goes, can't wait to see how badly the "cuck" comments from the first chapter age.

Kurisaki works at the same place as Chisa’s bf... I can see where this is heading
