Yup, I read the novels and I agree 100%, though I havent seen the anime. I bought the novels to support the series but I have to admit the manga is so much better.

Anime version is pretty much one to one to light novel more or less. It sticks pretty closely to what light novel did but due to that, especially for people who also read manga, you can tell how lacking some of it is.

You don’t see manga originals in the anime so there’s also that factor too.

While I liked the anime giving us the fights in motion. But it heavily relies on CG models of the characters for those scenes. Despite the good job making the CG models match their art style. Some of the motions feel too slow due to it. They kinda fixed this issue in the second season but due to anime directly adapting light novel without adding anything from the manga. Overall if one reads the manga while watching anime a sense of something is missing will happen. And unfortunately a sense of disappointment especially when comparing manga and anime together.

Anime is not bad, just the manga does way too good of a job taking the light novel material and making it better.

In the anime, there is no "Hinnis and the gang". The enemy assassin group is a nameless, generic, faceless NPCs and we never get to see what is going on with them and their details, outside of the exposition of they're an assassin group hired by Sven religion faction (the Pope) to take out Sven nation loyalist figurehead (the Prince).

The first breakout happened somewhere at the plaza, instead of a main road in the manga, where the assassins employed smoke screen to move through the royal guard defense line, but they ultimately thwarted with minimum casualty on defenders' side. Berryl noticed the assassin's attempt to kys during the fight, but most importantly, he saw Roze's fighting style being very aggressive and violent. She was more of a defensive type with proficiency at handling a shield back in the dojo. No restraint in killing the attackers despite the instruction to capture the assailants whenever possible.

Likewise, there's no scene about Royal Guards' initiative to assault the assassin's base (because the assassins are faceless NPC), so the scene went from that previous fight, to a bit of downtime and Roze's backstory (spoiler section below), and straight into what the manga is getting into: the City Tour chapter. Yes, Fey is manga exclusive character, just like Hinnis-and-the-gang is. Yes, there was no Prince depresso episode.

IIRC Hinnis was mentioned in the anime as the mastermind behind the prince attack in S2, when Beryl and Gatga meet again and discuss about the past incident. Maybe he/she will still appear?

I'm very interested to see how they explain Roze not being hanged for conspiring to assassinate the prince after the arc finishes.

In the anime: Beryl kicks the shit out of her, and decides with her brother "Beard-Ponytail" to hide her involvement in the assassination and have her leave the church knights and country to go into hiding "due to severe wounds suffered in the battle.

This trait is noticed by the papal faction, and they basically weaponize it to coerce Roze into participating in the assassination attempt. I won't spoil further beyond what the manga have shown, because I think it is going to be a p good revelation, even though simple. And yes, there will be a 1-on-1 between her and Berryl.

She was forced to be a spy. As you can see she is very protective of children, and belong to some orphanage knightsor some shi. I believe they hold all the children of the orphanage hostage or something. Manga is already much better then LN and anime, but they also changed quite much of the story, so I can't be sure if she'll survive or not
