I think what makes it feel out of place is the fact that the manga is released on chapter basis. In the LN this is the prologue of Volume 2, and is not really that strange for prologues to take you somewhere else since they're meant to be a setup so it felt more natural. But apparently here in the manga is going to be in the middle of a volume so even in the physical release is going to feel super weird.
