So they really are siblings. Which begs the question if the second half of my theory is correct but with a tweak. Like, he does like her but for some reason his memory was altered to replace the sister in lava's memory. 🤔

The warden probably knows someone with powers to alter memories and had them swap her and Shu in Lava's memories. This probably happened after whatever incident happened so that Alissa could keep her under control or watch over her without any interference. I don't think Lava mentioned having a sister up until now, so that seems to have been completely erased.

Now, is Shu some poor sap who got his memories messed with to put him in that spot as a decoy, or does he have actual history with the two girls?

Now we're going to ask

1: is the manga cover a lie? Author, why are you lying to us

2: why change ava's memory what are you hiding?

Just to save people from disappointment, you need to know that this is where the story starts to fall....

There are only 12 more chapters left.

You need to remember that this series was axed.

I wouldn't say that. The ending was a tad rushed but it had a whole volume for that. I just wish they addressed a bit more stuff.
The manga was already zany and not really serious as you can see Lian and Lava doing whatever they want in prison without Tarja, Ono or anyone keeping an eye on them when they are the most dangerous inmates there.
Maybe I would like a spin off since this universe of heroes and villains is interesting and the author is pretty good at character designs.

Not sure if they are real siblings (similar eyebrows but one with green hair and the other with red hair) or childhood friends and Shu just "replaced" Alissa. As for the other part:
Yes.

The issue is that the entire story is premise is basically thrown out.

The premise itself is why people connected with the story. It's why people read it and why people were rooting for it.

You can't destroy the very foundation of your story and then think there's going to be no consequences.
