he is the one increasing the difficulty to be honest. If all he wanted was to "save" his people, he could to that in a blink. But he wants to save the elves, prevent bloodshed, uncover the evil lurking in the shadows, mend relations, create opportunities for development that intertwines different races - and all of that with minimal meddling and using less than a fraction of his power - so that they don't over rely on him and he doesn't over rely on his power either.

at that point I'm surprised he didn't try to find a way to set up teleportation or some ways of quick traveling between places he went to.
The man is like Boimler when doing a scored simulation.

Spirits: Your score is: 94%
Aesir: No, no. I can do better. Again!
Spirits: You are already in the...
Aesir: HIT ME! AGAIN!

Elves are all archers right? What kind of formation could Aesir teach them? Isn't their current hit and run tactic the best without any screening infantry?
They're elves who have only done guerilla warfare. Even just shooting in the same general direction on an open field without getting in each other's way is not possible. Then the substantial logistics involved in restocking such an army with arrows, since the ones carrying the arrows probably could shoot themselves and now there's fights about pride.

Knowing when to retreat as a large group and in an orderly matter is important, especially if they want to move beyond the borders of the forest. With proper discipline and fantasy elf archery, you can achieve peak longbow warfare: Fire at ranges well beyond the capacity of cavalry to chase, with arrows that are not an issue to lose. Slowly whittle down any army that tries to encroach without cover, and tax those that do with a hefty amount of attrition. This, on top of potentially being attacked by monsters while they're held up.

MC acts like a total messiah in every city and country he visits, but man, he also has to work super hard for it :dogkek: MC be like :

thank you for translation
"Acts like" 😂
More like the MC just is a messiah (he's probably closer to just a god walking on Earth at this point; one that almost accidentally kickstarted the reset cycle just by not being a forest shut-in), but he insists on acting like a common drifter just enjoying the world. The world just has other plans for him.

... I was afraid Aesir would meet up with Wynn dying, if not already dead. (Wynn probably spearheading the War against the Human.) But at least this seems to be heading in different direction than what I fear.

The way Aesir has worded the requisites for a proper leader, plus his previous conversation, made me think that there will be a litmust test for the "king": a leader that can fight a proper battle against a human army, win and then negotiate a peace accord.

Feels simple once I write it, but to reach that point Aesir and his helper-successor must have turned different, bickering elven tribes into an unified country capable of training and supplying a standing army. And they must trust their leader with matters of life and death, and said leader should have the clout to make peace even with countries they dislike.

Easy peasy /s

Well, another legendary feat, but dang, he need to work hard to train/guide a king or leader. Which is not himself.

I mean, Wynn is a half-elf. He's long-lived, compared to a human, but his lifespan is still shorter than an elf's, let alone a high elf's.
At least, I think that's right.
Wynn might not have as much time as Aesir thinks; not just in because of a shorter lifespan, but also because he's fighting in a war, and there's no way to know if he's safe.
Well, but I think building a country is the best way to locate his son in this war-torn region. If he just wanders aimlessly and even has to avoid towns, it will be hard to find him. But as quasi-king he can make his own location public and build up an information network.

Aesir adopting more civilisations again c': I hope Wynn is safe though, that's my biggest worry with Aesir taking a decade to find him.

Wynn was still a child when he left Aesir and when we last saw him it didn't seem like he was doing well. I'm very curious to eventually see if and how he overcame it in Aesir's absence, how time (how old will he be??) and his experiences changed him and how their relationship evolves.

And also how seeing that will affect Aesir. It seems like it will be a while before then and an enjoyable wait :glee:
