It's funny because this series is doing the opposite, he was basically slingshot through ranks 1-5 and then things slowed WAY down. Not counting the '5.5' mess he hasn't ranked up since all the way back in chapter 172.

The final arc will probably involve direct confrontation with Baal and his god supporters, whether that will be at the end of this arc or not is impossible to say.

I love how this arc is putting everyone's desires on full blast and making clear where everyone stands. I mean this is the big climax right? Even if it doesn't end with Iruma as Demon King it will cement the path we've all been sure he'd go down. Like we're just saying it now. And not his classmates or grandpa, but members of the 13 crowns. And Mephisto straight up said Iruma being a human is a perk not a glitch.

The prophecy states:
He shall make one and all of his servants.
He shall form blood pacts and heal all demonkind.
He shall descend from a foreign realm
And wear the golden ring of Solomon on his right hand.
As Iruma doesn't want to discard anything, that fits making one and all not hyperbole.

Oh this is so getting good, Baal, Narnia and Knighwalker have no idea who they're picking a fight with. That being said, there's a chance that Baal saw all of this coming, as cunning as he is, and I wouldn't be surprised if he throws Knightwalker under the bus to advance his plans forward, because Baal plays the long game and I'm fairly certain that even all of this is just one more piece of the foundation of what his grand ambitions are heading towards. Sure he probably would see his goals fully achieved if everything went exactly according to what Knightwalker and Narnia probably believe to be the plan, but the game wouldn't be any fun if it ended that easily. He'll lose Knightwalker and possibly Narnia as pieces (not that Narnia was fully under his command in the first place,) but that potential promotion to temporary demon king is going to be massive.
