Similar level to have kids, yes.

Gabrielle had low mana 'for an archduke candidate from high rank duchy', which is still high for noble standard.

Generally if you're within the same status ranking it's usually close enough since 'most' people's mana don't grow by such a big degree. coughdamuelcough

That happens off the main story + since he is still son between an archduke and a princess it's debatable if his 'low' is like Bezewanst's abnormally so low to get booted to temple (where not even Gabrielle nor subsequent Veronica can keep him in nobility) or just 'low for a royal' since only one child get to leave that place anyway.
And he got baptized as an archduke candidate.

Whereas Damuel, a laynoble the lowest rung of nobles, as part of the main story grew with Myne's blessing + compressed enough to be compatible to a mednoble.
