Yup, these last few chapters really did a wonder for Saki. And judging by her responses here I think that she will slowly start to open toward others and be honest about who she really is. I know that her mom, Rinne and Ayano already know and already accepted her. I think their friends in school as well as teachers will also accept her as she is.

Only one who can give her hard time regarding this is Kanon's mom (and again it's a big maybe), and then again it will not be over who she really is but regarding her relationship and possible future with Kanon.

The moment Saki realize that she never had any enemies is the moment when she will truly be free, and it will all be thanks to almost deaf girl who was able to accept her as she is. :meguu:
As long as Kanon's mom isn't like actually homophobic (and even then, her love for Kanon could sway her to change her mind), I feel like she would be okay with Saki being a lesbian and the two of them being in a relationship. It's pretty clear how grateful she is for the change that Saki inspired in Kanon.

I agree.

The only reason why this is a discussion is because of her entire "you cannot live together" stance. But I do think that she will change her opinion once she learned that they are dating now.

Or she will be extra pissed at Saki for taking her daughter away. :dogkek:

The melodrama is getting... a little too much. It feels like its interrupting the story, going round and round in circles, wasting pages on meaningless intellectual sounding drivel
It's like u have watched too many shonen or have not read a lot of slow burn romance that's why🙄. If ur tired, read something else

If the two of them finally having a heart to heart about Saki's self-depreciation which has been a constant thing since more or less the start of the series - a heart to heart which is bundled with them accepting their feelings for each other - is just pointless melodrama distracting from the story, I want to know what you think this story is even about lol

Like, straight up, if the two of them talking about their feelings after just getting together is out of place or melodramatic, I have to wonder if you were aware this is a romance story. What would you have preferred to have happen instead?

Didn't know it was an ongoing with translation up to date. 🫪🫪🫪

So my bad i guess
No worries, I sort of assumed you weren't aware that it was ongoing or at least saw that each chapter took weeks to come out and assumed that the translation took far longer than it actually did.

The story is literally about Kanon and Saki's growing relationship, it would be more annoying if moments like this were constantly interrupted to stall progress instead of just smoothly addressing the elephant in the room that's been here since first volume. What story are you expecting in a character driven narrative where progress is clearly being made?

Kanon's mom: Oh alright since you're both dating

Also Kanon's mom: THIS BETTER NOT BE YOUR SOLUTION IN CONVINCING ME TO LET YOU BOTH STAY TOGETHER

Anyway jokes aside, I still have a gut feeling that Kanon's mom may still not be on board with them staying together, even if she does get wind of their relationship status now. But it wont be about two ladies in a same sex relationship.

I would think she would come around it if Saki and Kanon is a little older and have their own career going on.

Sorry I disagree. If anything, this kinda "melodrama" you're referring to is a vital plot point for this story. Other than a developing romance story, it's also an introspective character study of both Saki and Kanon, and how they each grow and change for the better the closer they connect with each other.

While binge-reading the manga, I felt almost no filler/waste of pages whatsoever since they all move the plot even if it's slow yet deliberate and planned. Well for me the closest it felt dragged on for too long was prob the later parts of Kanon realizing her crush through the photos (that felt a bit too agonizing for a slow-burn for me lmao), but even then the satisfaction and relief was so immense at the climax of her finally figuring out that it paid off in the end lel
