The contrast between the ways Kanon and Saki deal with issues in communication is just so freaking brilliant.

Kanon suffers externally through her body's physical ailment while Saki suffers internally due to her psychological restriction, both of which contribute to difficulties understanding one another, themselves and others.

To which the resulting pains echo each other. While Kanon's malady is physical, its effects are entirely inside of herself, trapping her identity whereas Saki's trauma is mental but formed because of outside influence, forcing her to create an identity like a shell around her own.

Inversion on top of inversion to the point it loops back into it's original state. Just beautiful. I long for this level of storytelling prowess.

I'm glad you kept 'horny' in the translation. It feels so direct, it really captures that desperate tone and it sounds very..........'adolescent'? (Since an adult would've danced around the word instead of just saying it as it is).

It's so touching because her own homophobia isn't just about repressing her romantic feelings, but her sexual ones too.
Poor girl she's so relatable in the self-hatred she feels toward every aspect of her identity. It makes me proud to watch her go through this process (and Kanon is such a perfect character for her to fall in love with)
