I thought Kuroiwa was introduced to become a rival, also vying for Chiaki's affection, but didn't count on another layer of tension being stacked on top of it, in her relationship with Mashiro. It'll be fun to see that all play out, heh

Atsuko is such a good egg though; we might have to induct her into hall of yuri supporting characters deserving of a happy ending...

She literally already is. She's jealous of Akko, she's the one determined to make Chiaki fall for her while Chiaki stays perfectly level headed in her approach. Sure she's got the upper hand when flirting because she's more experienced but like. The story has very much been about how Mashiro normally goes after haughty women to make them fall and how Chiaki just isn't like that even if she looks the part.
