The Sorcerer used teleportation magic to visit the village but it turns out it depletes his mana and he struggles to use the teleportation magic again to go back home.

The witch finds this out and she gives him two vials of mana potion. The sorcerer is shocked since he can't even manufacture highest grade mana potion, even one vial is enough to fully restore him. So he thinks the witch is possibly an ancient demon (not mandragora), and it's implied that the witch is far more powerful than him.


Only older demons can create such powerful potion. He's been all alone as the sole survivor of the demon kind, he never received help from a more experienced demon, so the sorcerer interprets the witch's gesture as treating him like a "child". This hurts his pride a bit, she even gives him two vials, so he can visit again another time.

The origins of demons has never been confirmed, however Nikolaus theorizes that demons were hybrids of humanoid monsters and humans. He thinks that if Ritter and Murasaki-chan manages to breed, it will be an entirely new bloodline of plant-based demons because the existing demon species doesn't have plant-based characteristics. Humanoid monsters doesn't necesssarily mean monsters evolving into a humanoid shape like MC did, hers is an entirely different process. It is possible that the first 'demon' was similar to MC, a reincarnated Japanese monster who eventually attained a human form and then gave birth to the demon race. Nikolaus says that for demons to be born, the mother must be a witch as the fetus is influenced by their magic. It's the reason why he is trying to recreate the demon race because there are no witches left; he cannot restart the demon race by reproducing with humans. If the theories are true, what MC is becoming is technically not a demon, but a higher rank existence that would be essentially the progenitor of actual demons like Nickolaus. It's like when Tigers and Lions interbreed to produce Ligers however Tigers and Lions are not Ligers.
