Old habits die hard I guess. I mean it's really sad. He got a second chance at reconnecting with his son, and he just made all the same mistakes. He clearly regretted his actions but couldn't properly have a conversation with his son. I feel for the second last chapter when he was mad at his dad for getting to the last word in and peacing out. Like lmao, that is so not an apology. He also continued being pig headed about stupid stuff in a way that just pissed everyone off. The best it looks now is if we say that was the desperation of a man clinging to some form of consciousness after life and scared of nothingness. Crazy that he didn't even ask his son how he died or explain where his memories ended.

He doesn't have to, none of them have to explain anything towards each other if it doesn't particularly benefited or related to Lyle. They are just memory and they know it

actually interesting to show the first being a fucking farmer and not having everything set up for him right from the start. wish all these ancestor flashbacks would've been that fruitful right from the start instead of the author/artist wasting chapter upon chapter on the same 3 fucking "jokes" (??) about lyle or them bickering about random crap while his mana reserves got drained and he passed out.

So the first can actually say sensible things...
I feel sad that he was never able to patch things up with the second while still alive.
