    Reading pornagraphic manhwas and mangas is so fucking funny to me because they obviously have only seen a woman’s body in porn because they way they draw and write it is just so bad it’s funny like just saw one and they made the whole vagina as a hole i literally cackled when i saw it. I read it whenever im sad because the absolute absurdity of these men is so funny because they’re such virgins.     Sitting in a restaurant and god there’s something about a man speaking for the woman who can clearly speak and telling the waiter her order that just is so gross to me.     @Angry_Panda yah I get that it was normal back then but just because it was normal doesn’t mean it’s fine. Like it’s not directly harmful but not letting a woman speak for herself is just a way of control. Now men do it less often but I’ve seen it and experienced it like when a man orders something for a woman even tho she didn’t want that thing because he “knows better”

    Well, there's a difference between my grandfather asking my grandmother what she wanted before the waiter came to take the order (which he did every time I can remember) and 'shut up and eat what I ordered you', but I broadly agree with your point. The bigger problem I have with the behavior in my grandparents' case stems from the implied racism underlying the practice - 'can't let the women interact with the help here in the South'.

    I’m gonna vent to yall now cause uh I can and my texts aren’t working and I can’t rant to my friends. So I have a brother. Whenever he gets an award or a hobby or a grade he’s always does fine or even well and my parents have alwayss and so has the family friends. Take poetry we both do poetry but I in middle school got invited to a college with a couple other kids who were handpicked by our school because our poetry was so good yet my family barely congratulated me.

    For the grades problem, the parent's reaction is kind of normal. You always have good grades, they're used to it, they think it's normal, same for your brother having bad grades. So when your brother have suddenly a good grade, they will compliment him because he do better than usual. In the same way, if your grades drops, prepare yourself to have a light scolding from your parents. It's the change from normalcy that makes them react. Everyone is kind of the same for that, your parents are no exception.

    There's an 'oh, it's the baby!' response that happens to some degree in a lot of families - it's not universal, but it's pretty common. My (younger) sister got away with things that would have gotten me beat (literally - it was a different time). Your situation sounds more like 'honored first son' and 'oh, yeah, we have a daughter too, I guess...', so you might want to talk to your folks about how you feel (and be prepared for that to not entirely get full equality right off the bat).

    There's a general rule that says that a woman must prove that she's much better than a man to receive the same treatment, specially if she's younger. Then of course it's the order of inheritance, male primogeniture gets preferential treatment. You may find this archaic, but it is repeated generations after generations.

    I’ve been reading a lot of romance manga recently and I think the reason it never feels that good is because people don’t understand the nature of love between two individuals. Love is like loving the little things that’s when you fall in love it’s not when they fight off a whole bunch of people and save you it’s when you can get pure joy from their reaction to coffee in the morning and you like how they look when they’re disheveled and just woke up that’s love and romance in media fails to realize that

    It changes as the interest of the audience switches, they saw they want more morbidity so they show more unsettling products and they even advertise it sometimes as "look how good we are, we don't only have hetero-normative stuff, we are inclusive and realistic!". For instance, they discovered that reality shows with toxic relationships were trending, so they produced more of it and in different formats, so eventually manga industry adopt it as well. It's also a way to add new things without having to censor anything.

    @Yuri_lover0-0 well, if you're crying because you're being beaten by the cops they won't be able to unlock yours, right? Jokes aside, each country has its laws, in mine police cannot access to mobile phones, computers and similar gadgets unless they find them already unlocked, so if you use biometrics it gets harder for them to prove they haven't actually hacked in to get a look. Of course, if you're being investigated by a judge an order is enough to get all the info out of you but otherwise you have privacy.

    @Manko-sensei yah it didn’t always work like this but the Supreme Court ruled a while ago that a cop can unlock a phone using fingerprints or face because that’s something given “freely” because they can’t make you speak 5th amendment and all but because there is no freedom broken by forcing your face or hands it’s legal T-T

    Welcome to the old continent? Well, those degrees (less than 30ºC) outdoors are perfectly normal and as long as indoors the temperature is lower there's no actual need to have an AC. That's why nowadays many places don't have one, it also depends on the country you're right now, but this is more or less what you should expect. Of course, if you go to libraries, stores (specially capitalist ones like Starbucks) and many business they'll have AC, but yes, a fan is a good ally.

    Ah, perfectly understandable then, it is indeed during the heatwave and there's high humidity, so you can't help but sweat a lot. The northern European countries don't have buildings (unless they're from this century) for a warmer climate, installing an AC means a major remodeling and sometimes you even can't despite having the money for it. Tomorrow temperatures are expected to drop, but it'll take some days to become normal again. Being in the highlands will probably help.
