  • You know, i'm actually not socially anxious, it's just that I know my place in the world.
    This sounds really edgy 😭
This might be a stupid pet peeve, but publicly stating you're an "Otaku" is honestly quite annoying.

Very funny how otaku mean geek in one way or another.

Otaku doesn't always mean anime and manga, there also game, idols, and other hobby. Even people who love history or novel could counted as otaku.....

Sigh..... Here I am, stating the obvious. For what purpose?

I know right? just say you're a weeb if you really want to lean into the fact that you like anime.
I'm starting to realize how many yuri enjoyers are in this forum. I wonder why that's the case...

In a matter of years yuri became popular on the net, nothing more, nothing less. Why do you see more yuri covers? Because putting girls on the cover always increases sells, why do you think romcom is still alive? As for yaoi, around half of the people I've met IRL (not meeting just once, but having shared table for some time at least) liked it or were hardcore fans, more or less the same proportion as shounen fans. As for yuri... I can count them with a single hand (in fact, I've converted more people to yuri than that).
Long strips are the most annoying comic type since it only considers mobile and tablet readers and nothing else. Nearly all of the long strips that I read would probably be better if it was adapted to the traditional comic type. 335km is the only long strip that I actually prefer reading in that way, since the art uses it to its advantage at the end. Still whoever popularized long strips can burn in the deepest pits of hell for eternity.
My dumbass just put a cotton swab too far into my ear and now my ear feels muffled. Great...
I'm kinda still in some sort of Demon Slayer phase. Help.
...But, if the forum regulars (and newbies) were Demons, who would be Muzan and the Twelve Kizuki?
Not to mention, who would be the demon slayers?

Honestly, the best character I could possibly be is some low-level demon. I'm not really that well known in the forums, after all.

@yogurtman250 I was half joking, I just don't know many regulars who are into KnY. But still it's fun inserting your friends into pieces of fiction you love
Even I did it at some point. Dex-chan-sama forgive me for mentioning [REDACTED]'s thread...

I mean I've done it plently of times in my head. I have some crazy story related to some self-inserts in some game I like. It's really cringe so it'll never see the light of day. It's still fun to think about though.
One of the many things that the pandemic's impact made worse is the invention of snow days. For my district, there are 3 normal snow days, and if all of them are used, we'd have to use back to virtual school like the good ol' pandemic days. Fun. :haa:
One way romance manga has rotted my brain is the number 3.
The number 3 has became an inside joke with myself in romance manga due to the amount of fiances Ramna (from Ramna 1/2) has. He was 3, which are Akane, Shampoo, and Ukyo if you didn't know.

Another fun fact: I am quite bad with names. I forgot Ukyo's name while typing this. Sorry Ukyo!
I also forgot my cousin's name during some family reunion a while back. No idea how that happened.

I may be stupid and can't understand literature, but I didn't mind the opening of the manga. What's so off-putting about it? The artstyle?
...Actually it's probably due to the "delinquent" ascept of the manga. Oh well.

Not the artstyle and not the delinquent theme.
The opening just had a lot of weird, uncomfortable stuff dumped on you immediately, before there was anything to get invested in. That kind of intro just isn’t for me.

Ah, well to each their own I guess. I like it for the artstyle though, one of my favorites.
I'm curious, what do you think will happen to your life if someone you know (like your family or co-worker) found out about your use of this place?
It would be so over for me...

If someone I know found out… I’d have to give them the full dossier: yuri lore, every ship, all the reasons women are objectively amazing. And then calmly explain why this is completely normal and scientifically important.

They’d either nod slowly in reluctant respect… or slowly back away, questioning every life choice I’ve ever made.

Also I really don't give a damn since I moved away

@yogurtman250 I would suggest to stop hanging out with pearl-clutching moral police; trying to appeal to those people might also be the reason why you're so harsh on yourself.
But I don't know your life, so at the end of the day the decision is up to you.

tbh, this site's called mangadex, and manga is pretty normie in 2025. Nothing would happen.
it's not like someone's horrified for watching me browse 4chan on the morning train. Plus, no one gives a shit about other people in America unless it's porn, and even then most would just raise an eyebrow and keep walking.
