Interesting one-shot all for the wrong reason.
- One syllable title
- "Ga" in the story refers to the word "moth", but "ga" in Japanese can mean a whole lot other things. I thought there's some kind of hidden message in the story, tho I don't think so. Not sure.
- Officially translated into "Ga", instead of "Moth". Tho, apart from the "Lady ga-ga" joke, the title serves no purpose.
- And all the Japanese readers talking is about the horrible Kansai-ben the characters are using
So, there's this... uh..... girl, I presume, across the table from me.
Couldn't take my eyes off her.
Not because she was pretty,
more so because I couldn't even see her face.
Had multiple agonizing new reads this week,
and it made me want to illustrate how my mind usually feels while reading manga.
This doesn't reflect my scoring, just my general feelings.
Basically, for me, the worst isn't the most hurtful.
I've always disliked manga that uses boobs for no apparent reason other than to hide the lack of a story behind it.
Especially when it seems like the artist can't even draw body proportions properly outside of the boobs.
And when a manga, out of nowhere, releases a hentai chapter, it seems to me like it's just a desperate bait for the main story.
Initially, I wasn't expecting much from Champignon no Majo anime.
The production budget seemed lower than most other airing this season, and the manga was just so-so in my opinion.
But wow, the music really elevated everything for me.
Riding the subway, standing beside the door, playing with my phone.
Suddenly, a guy, total stranger, came to me, looked straight at my face, and said "aren't you getting off?"
Surprised, bewildered, I followed him getting off the train.
And I was like "where the fcj am I? this isn't my stop. who was that? what the hell? I didn't even block the door"
It's that time of year to start choosing manga recommendations for the year.
After last year, to my surprise, finally got my name chosen to be featured,
this time my ego felt the pressure to pick the right titles.
I don't know which is the correct question:
why a hentai magazine decided to run a "normal" series, not even an erotic story, mind you,
or
why the mangaka decided to publish their stories in a hentai magazine.
Is it because they're all yuri stories?
These noise cancelling headphones are really dangerous.
They make me not realize I ripped a big fart.

I thought I was being sneaky.
A few months ago, I tried an audiobook for the first time, and I found it really weird to hear a female character voiced by a raspy-voiced man.
So I stopped.
And today, I got the new Harry Potter audiobook, and Merlin's Beard, it's amazing.
Opening a still-sealed boxed drink in the fridge,
which I kinda forgot I bought a couple days ago at a discounted price because they were almost expired.
Wonder when's the expiration date...

Finally finished reading Kaze Hikaru. (Just in time before I had to go to work)
This manga absolutely broke me for the last few weeks.
On the one hand, it had a lot of things I really liked, but it also had stuffs I really really didn't like.
(I wouldn't go so far as to say I hated it, but those things really bothered me)
It validated a lot of things I thought/knew were wrong in popular stories/portrayals,
but at the same time, it kinda also destroyed/deconstructed many things I believed to be true.
the one time I thought "I don't need no knee pads, I'm already good enough"
fell down on my knees on hard ice trying to avoid a kid
should've avoided going on weekends like I usual do
It's times like these that make me miss the old day of blogging,
because I really want to word vomit my experience reading this one manga that I've been struggling to finish for almost a month now.
