  • So, there's this... uh..... girl, I presume, across the table from me.

Couldn't take my eyes off her.

    Not because she was pretty,

more so because I couldn't even see her face.

Had multiple agonizing new reads this week,
and it made me want to illustrate how my mind usually feels while reading manga.
This doesn't reflect my scoring, just my general feelings.

Basically, for me, the worst isn't the most hurtful.

I've always disliked manga that uses boobs for no apparent reason other than to hide the lack of a story behind it.
Especially when it seems like the artist can't even draw body proportions properly outside of the boobs.

And when a manga, out of nowhere, releases a hentai chapter, it seems to me like it's just a desperate bait for the main story.
Initially, I wasn't expecting much from Champignon no Majo anime.
The production budget seemed lower than most other airing this season, and the manga was just so-so in my opinion.
But wow, the music really elevated everything for me.
Riding the subway, standing beside the door, playing with my phone.
Suddenly, a guy, total stranger, came to me, looked straight at my face, and said "aren't you getting off?"
Surprised, bewildered, I followed him getting off the train.
And I was like "where the fcj am I? this isn't my stop. who was that? what the hell? I didn't even block the door"
I don't know which is the correct question:
why a hentai magazine decided to run a "normal" series, not even an erotic story, mind you,
    or
why the mangaka decided to publish their stories in a hentai magazine.

Is it because they're all yuri stories?

As a yuri fan, I think it’s pretty clear why this happens. Even if the series isn’t erotic, a hentai magazine’s audience is already into yuri, so running a ‘normal’ yuri story still fits. And for the mangaka, it’s a good way to reach the exact readers who’ll appreciate their work.

Honestly, the first one makes more sense
Why did a hentai magazine decide to run a ‘normal’ series, not even an erotic story?
The reason is that even a non-erotic yuri series still appeals to their audience, so the magazine has a reason to include it. The mangaka’s choice is secondary most likely they went there because the magazine already had the right readership.

These noise cancelling headphones are really dangerous.
They make me not realize I ripped a big fart.
    Loudly.
I thought I was being sneaky.
Finally finished reading Kaze Hikaru. (Just in time before I had to go to work)

This manga absolutely broke me for the last few weeks.
On the one hand, it had a lot of things I really liked, but it also had stuffs I really really didn't like.
(I wouldn't go so far as to say I hated it, but those things really bothered me)

It validated a lot of things I thought/knew were wrong in popular stories/portrayals,
but at the same time, it kinda also destroyed/deconstructed many things I believed to be true.

It was... good... but at the same time I felt like it wasn't...
I should've liked it, but I also kinda hated it.

I feel like, after reading this manga, most people would end up with the thought either:
"samurai are awesome" or "samurai are a bunch of gays".
I guess that makes it "samurai are a bunch of awesome gays" ?
the one time I thought "I don't need no knee pads, I'm already good enough"

fell down on my knees on hard ice trying to avoid a kid

should've avoided going on weekends like I usual do
Having some useless deep thoughts about the philosophy of subjectivity and objectivity.

There's nothing useless about trying to understand things as they are. Are you familiar with the works of Kant or Heidegger? I gained a lot of insight on the topic through them.

haha, no, I'm not planning on going into that much depth about it right now
Reading Mangaplus Creator from time to time is fun.
I like seeing what those inspiring mangaka from all over the world are making.

Until I stumble upon one manga that suggested the idea of playing an electric guitar using a violin bow.
And I instantly got a brain aneurysm.
Japan has a ton of cup ramen and instant ramen brands, so when I moved here, I picked up a new hobby: trying one brand/flavor of instant ramen once a month. (normal, udon, soba, whatever)
Just one pack/cup, once a month.

I'm no picky eater, so up till now it's been just "yeah, it's ramen alright".
Maybe one was slightly spicy, or salty, or thick. But overall, it's whatever.
But for this month's instant ramen, I was like

"why does the broth smell like piss?"
    :shamihuh:
First time I saw Darwin Jihen long time ago, I thought it was a gag manga, so I wasn't interested in reading it.
Even after I found out it wasn't, the premise still didn't appeal to me.
Now that I've read it... well... the story was... good...?

    I can't say I liked it.

too many on-the-nose and patronizing lectures and messages that made me
