Most of the prequels are fun to read except the direct prequel. That one was a dumpster fire. You should give the rest of the series a try though.

My predictions: Doppo and Katsumi will lose, while Hanayama, Baki and Nomi no Sukune are going to win. Doppo to keep the keep the stakes up and Katsumi because he's Katsumi.

It's probably not a good sign if the manga is at the one fourth mark and you wish the characters hurried up and died faster for it to be over.

Just read the last volume in german. That series was axed brutally. Atleast it got a rushed wrap up arc, but it wasn't a satisfying ending. Poor Monko deserved better.
