I'm a little confused about the "Mona Lisa Syndrome" discussed in the Author's Epilogue. It seems like it refers to a facial paralysis condition- not gender or sex in any way. Is the author maybe talking about something else?

I do love the bittersweet irony that the Duke can't touch the woman he loves, and yet they still can share their lives together while the ringmaster can hold his wife, but only for fleeting moments. This manga really takes a very unique look at love.

So this chapter confirms that the asshole teacher was molested as a child. It's certainly not unheard of for victims to become abusers. It also helps explain his disdain of women.

More and more of the pieces are coming together to make it to seem like this is Toki's dream. He wanted Tohno so badly that he created the perfect version of her and put them in a situation where they can be together and he can come off as a hero.

This is a great portrayal of society and how people react when there's no one to enforce rules or boundries. It's dark, but characters are very beleivable and real. I love it. That being said, the rating of this needs to increase. Even with censored panels, it's still has graphic sexual content.
