@Cryo11 Well, she has previously been described as a Thuggee (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thuggee) and she apparently makes "authentic" smelling curry, so she's heavily implied to be from the Indian subcontinent. Her name is probably meant to be one of these meanings...

I think this is less Phos going wrong than it is Phos going horribly, horribly right, since now they are free of attachments and probably in a position to end the cycle of suffering that is existence. Phos becomes human and Buddha both... unless they or Achmea somehow manage to mess it up, which...
