Go! Tenba Cheerleaders - Vol. 2 Ch. 8

    Good for him.

    Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san - Vol. 2 Ch. 32 - Sense of Duty and Muromi-san

And of course Muromi-san, after going on about how it's only the dumb-dumbs that try to eat inedible stuff, tries to eat Takkun's lure. Again. And you know... it just struck me - Muromi and Levia and the rest of the mermaids actually make sense. They're apparently effectively immortal, so...

    Super Cub - Vol. 3 Ch. 16 - Shii-Chan

So nice to see a chapter of this comfy manga - I've missed it.

Kodama Maria Bungaku Shuusei - Vol. 2 Ch. 12 - Maria Structure

God I love this manga. That was such a great chapter, from start to finish.

Tonight, we are having a sleepover - Ch. 3

Just catching up with this. So far, onee-chan's my favorite character. Fairly obvious where this is headed, and I'm okay with that.

Kodama Maria Bungaku Shuusei - Vol. 2 Ch. 9 - Armour Modelling

It struck me, thinking about this, that it's potentially significant that we continue to see the idealized version of Kodama-san whether Fueda-kun is actually there or not, and that the only time we've seen what she really looks like is when he's looking at that photo. Maybe it's not all in his...

Kodama Maria Bungaku Shuusei - Vol. 2 Ch. 9 - Armour Modelling

Ahh. With the topic of the chapter, I was hoping that we'd get to see what Kodama-san really looked like, but I wasn't all that optimistic that the mangaka would actually do it. So now the question becomes - what does Fueda-kun really see? As they note, photographs don't lie, and that's what...

    Candy & Cigarettes - Vol. 3 Ch. 11 - Dead or alive

Pops' turn to do some serious ass-kicking next. This'll be good. Great to see a new chapter too - this is one of my favorites, and it's been neglected for too long.

Kodama Maria Bungaku Shuusei - Vol. 1 Ch. 7 - How Clumsy You Are, Mr. Fueda

Well... the title's an obvious Ueno-san reference - we'll see where it goes from there... Okay - I'm not sure what I was expecting, but that wasn't it. Which is part of what I love about this manga, but I'm left wondering why the author started with the Ueno-san reference. Notably, Fueda did...

Shishunki-chan no Shitsukekata - Vol. 1 Ch. 4 - The Ups and Downs of Living Together

So I wonder why it is that Nakata Yumi has this tendency to introduce side characters who are clearly superior to the main female character. If this goes the same way as Kanojo no Kagi, by the time it's all over, EVERY side character will be better than the main.

Kodama Maria Bungaku Shuusei - Vol. 1 Ch. 5 - Blind Literature

"Ordinary boys don't interest me." Is the similarity to Haruhi's self-introduction deliberate? After reading the rest of the chapter, I'm inclined to think it is, since we're starting to discover that reality itself isn't what we thought it was. I'm really curious to see where this goes next...

Kodama Maria Bungaku Shuusei - Vol. 1 Ch. 4 - History of the Interrogative

And another thing I love about this manga is the brilliant way the viewpoint and focus shift from one panel to the next. It's a dynamic, cinematic style, and VERY well done.

    Kodama Maria Bungaku Shuusei

This is good stuff. I love the rough, heavy art style - it reminds me a lot of Abe Youichi - and it's nicely paired with the dry wit and the sense of hidden depth - the certainty that there's much more going on in Kodama-san's mind than she lets on. Thanks to Penny Theater for sharing yet...

    Shikushiku Shikushi - Vol. 1 Ch. 8

Wow! If I wasn't already a fan of this manga, I sure as hell would be now - that was one of the best chapters I've read in a long time. I'm honestly not sure if I've ever seen that many different brilliant gags all crammed into one chapter before. Props to RUI Tamachi, and to everyone...

Tonari no Seki ni Natta Bishoujo ga Horesaseyou to Karakattekuru ga Itsunomanika Kaeriuchi ni Shiteita - Vol. 2 Ch. 6

That was adorable. This is an oddly impressive manga. It's a pretty simple and tropish setup and characters, but somehow it manages to be consistently better than it seems like it should be.

    Shikushiku Shikushi - Vol. 1 Ch. 7

Ah - that was an especially good chapter - the transition from funny to touching and back to funny was well done.

Akebi-chan no Sailor Fuku - Vol. 8 Ch. 47 - I Know What it Means

Nice to see sensei get her turn in the spotlight, and what a turn it was. And no, @kojiro481, I'm pretty sure it's literally impossible for Komichi to dislike someone. We haven't seen her really tested yet, but I'm pretty sure that even if she faced a truly loathsome person, she'd find...
