Huh. However cheesy this series beforehand and how predictable the MC's girlfriend being the cheater, at least the characters feel more real now.

Going to lose horribly reminds me of the command from One Outs: "Go lose in tatters". Both mean that it's better to lose meaningfully than win something pointless. Inspiring if you think hard about it.

I love how the author is meticulous about his laziness, then lampshades it. You know all those pesky realistic problems about being in a foreign land? They'll bother you for 3 chapters before a NPC takes care of them in one panel.
