100 Chapters in would be right around the end of the Labyrinth arc, right? I'm not sure how one would think about the manga as focused on strong people beating each other up instead of gambling and games at that point.

So to clarify, Suteguma's ability, as it were, basically shows him when whoever he's looking at is mentally weakened? That would explain how Baku could game it to show that he was "prey" to Suteguma, by being anxious over something else.

So Suteguma knowingly put the wrong number into the Dotty right from the start, playing everyone for a fool and falsely making Baku believe his number had to be lower than 8. That's an interesting gamble for sure, since it's banking on Baku managing to figure out the wrong number to begin with...
