Well you are wrong for expecting some kind of deep storytelling in a joke manga like this. It's obvious the author doesn't have the gravitas to do it in a mature way, that's why they make the mother a mooch and an airhead.
It would be incredibly weird if my high school girlfriend would suddenly call up and ask to stay at my place after not keeping touch for 17 years (I'm at a similar age so it's pretty easy to think how I'd handle it). It would definitely feel sus and made me feel if there's something she's not...
I dropped the second part because of stupid evil Tsuchiya and it seems like it's STILL going. Which is a shame because the first part was amazing. Anyone reading the raws can give a hint when the manga is actually done with him?
Lol this was literally the comment I was coming here to write. I don't know about historical spoilers, but a lot of these characters aren't coming home from the war
And also lol if the author thinks they're gonna make me symphatetic to Riboku and his girlfriend. Just kill 'em already
I think I read Fumi's comment totally different than others here, for me it seemed like she was dissing Mitsumi behind her back saying she's not good at anything besides studying? But everyone's comments here made me think I misread the subtext.
I guess somewhere during the missing 200+ chapters they got on the same space mission? That's cool, although I don't have any idea what has happened lately in this manga.
There's a gap of 30 chapters and I have no idea what's been happening.
I do remember that the manga started to lose a lot of steam when they went to modern age with the young girl arc.
@Submarina It's weird, since on the other hand it's a comfy slice of life manga but on the other there's the side with older men as young girls' "patrons" (and the frequent male guests of Momoko) which always leaves me with a strange feeling.
Compared to something like Be blues this definitely feels more like .. a manga. Unrealistic developments and characters whereas Ao ni nare actually feels like they're legit showcasing football.
