I take it this is one of those good-oracle-wrong-princess kind of situations, and Reni is the one the oracle meant.

Writing is somewhat slipshod. Author does okay with fights, but plot development is kinda haphazard. KS's efforts in this title aren't exactly stellar either. Since this is the very beginning, I'll hope that it's just one of those titles which have a rough/flat start and improve over time.

I'm not sure I understand the use of "intoxicated" here. Did she mean punch-drunk? Because Zekka seemed pretty eager to get into a fight.

With this kind of description though, along with @ThanatosHellfire's concerns, it's probably safe to classify her as a "Lawful" aligned character, but maybe not so much good, but with the idea that the concepts of lawful and good are separate and distinct. Served the purpose of good, sure, but...

Tropes are tropes for a reason. Used overused and abused just because they somehow work as plot devices, until we one day complain about how repetitive they've become.

Probably it's because she's been away on whatever business she's been conducting, giving Mushim time to build his political powerbase. He very likely owns that entire room. The ones who raised their hands in favor of the vote are probably his allies, won over by promises, coercion, persuasion...
