I like that whoever did backgrounds picked a specific one to signify Gran's mind control. From the moment he gets her to join him, to every time he appears in her memories, it's the same background. It works nicely.

Even though Tobias claims he’s upset that Dahliya didn’t rely on him, I think that no matter what she did, he would have found fault with her out of jealousy.

I love that she has supportive friends and a community that cares for her. Too many romances have main characters that have no solid friend, family, or community connections, so the only person they process things with is their love interest. I really like that this is not the case here.

Honestly, she doesn’t have to admit that she didn’t wash her hair, she should just tell him not to touch it. He probably wouldn’t respect it though...he really only hears what he wants to, doesn’t he? He ignored 3/4ths of what she said this chapter.

I like her as a main character. Still I have to say, when characters like this are going out of their way to do things outside of the plot, it always annoys me that they’re shook when their actions change things and people make different decisions.
