Interesting premise but if those first two chapters are anything to go by, I can tell this manga is going to be incredibly fucking annoying because the characters are going to be frustrating non stop.

Really? I'm pretty sure we've seen the "reaper" character in the background of those chapters for a while now. I'm guessing he's the embodiment of that curse, and relates to the family of the guy who killed Chiaki in the present (since his family owns a ton of stuff around the town if I remember...

Yeah that's what I meant, I was confused as to why they initially didn't plan on all the way to the other side to the transport from the outside, rather than going through the mine with the creature there. But I guess that was a necessary plot device!
