That was a something I didn't see coming, the damage they were talking about was more than physical. I thought the losing himself bit was from the suffering he would have to endure due to the difficulty but he's literally more in sync with the host now.

It seems like many readers weren't mature enough for this specific work of fiction and it's showing with all the complaints of 'oh the drama' and 'just shut up and listen woman'.
Indeed it's not about the fact that guns are in a fantasy setting. It's the fact that this guy seemingly just invented a hunting rifle and now the MC wants him to make an lmg and probably multiple, in less than a week.
@kanaloa I feel similar but for different reasons. Honestly where is the fun in exploring a new world and new places if everything is handed to you? If it's about going into a fantasy world with magic and stats that already reward effort then why the hell would you want to skip all of that...
It's worse because supposedly a low level spell from his time could somehow mow down a whole line of trees. If that's the case the sages or those right below them would have been destroying the world on a regular basis.
