@Thejobbernowl Someone mentioned Bridget Jones in the comments to a previous chapter and this definitely reminds me of the movie. The roles of the male leads have just been switched up a little.

@JWChibi Did she have a talent for wielding a sword in the original? Her upper body strength there was pretty decent because she'd been farming and tree-climbing from a young age; here she's likely weaker, and she's starting her training years later, so it's hard to see her getting up to par...

@Fushiginiku I was getting those vibes too, but it seems a little too elaborate; Meliarose is pretty agreeable, if the prime minister had asked normally she would likely still have accepted the engagement. Then again this story seems to be all about being over-the-top, so I guess this scenario...

@Georg-Prime I guess that explains why I immediately assumed this was BL when I first saw it; I was surprised to see that it wasn't. I don't know how I feel about it other than assuming that any subtext/teasing will ultimately go nowhere, so I shouldn't get my hopes up.

Looks like the artist's style is starting to change; Keiya seems to be drawn a bit differently. Wonder if he's based on any Kpop or Jpop stars.
